Parenting and Divorce Course
All parties involved in family cases in Taylor County are required to take a parenting seminar. It is a 4-hour course that may be taken online or in person. The cost ranges from $19-50 depending on which website you use to take the course. You do not have to take it with the other party in your case. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate that you need to provide to your attorney so it can be filed with the District Clerk in your case. Failure to take the required course can result in sanctions by the court including not being allowed to present your requests for a final order to the court and/or not being allowed to have visitation with your children until the course is completed.
You need to take only one course. The following websites provide courses that meet the requirement for the court ordered parenting course:
Parenting on Two Feet is an in-person seminar offered in Abilene, Texas. The cost is $45-50. Spots are limited and you need to pre-register for the course. Classes held on 2nd Saturday of each month. Registration for the course is linked below.

The process group is scheduled to run each month for two hours per week for a total of eight hours. Sessions build on the previous session so they must be completed in sequence without missing any of the sessions.
In order to make the group affordable, the cost was capped at $12.50/hour of content, which brings the total to $100, which is paid upfront before the first session.
